"India Day" in Ireland was conceived and organised by the Ireland India Council in a collaborative partnership with OPW, An Garda Síochána, Civic Bodies, and Indian agencies from 2015. It celebrates freedom and Irish Indian friendship. "India Day" trade/domain/business names duly registered with Ireland India Council, and the Council has exclusive rights. An independent, non-political, secular steering committee drawn from professionals provides direction and leadership. Our events and programmes aim to expand collaboration between Irish and Indian businesses and people.
India Day convenes outstanding talent across generations, cultures and sectors to inspire new thinking and action and connect communities. We foster lasting friendships and partnerships.
Over 40,000 guests from all over Ireland physically visited the India Day event at Farmleigh House and Estate until 2019. Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we are hosting the virtual celebration. Contrary to what many people believe, our virtual events register higher participation than in-person.
